SDGs

Informetis is contributing to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its energy data solutions.

What is SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Proactive involvement in delivering the SDGs

Informetis will contribute to practical actions for a carbon-neutral society by evolving the passive legacy energy infrastructure into an active, smart and valuable energy data infrastructure. Towards achieving the SDGs goals in 2030, we will focus on the following 6 areas alongside growing our own business.

Visualising energy data to help achieve a carbon neutral society

Wider adoption of sustainable energy is mandatory to achieve a carbon neutral society. Our technology solution can contribute in optimising energy management using high resolution energy data both within the home as well as for load balancing of the grid.

SDGs goals SDGs targets Our contribution

7.

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

7.2

increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030

Through our research and development in the area of energy optimization, we can contribute to stabilizing sustainable energy distribution and improve its economical affordability.

7.a

by 2030 enhance international cooperation to facilitate access to clean energy research and technologies, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and advanced and cleaner fossil fuel technologies, and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technologies

Through our unique handling of high resolution energy waveform data analysis, we can contribute to innovating the energy infrastructure.

11.

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

11.a

support positive economic, social and environmental links between urban, peri-urban and rural areas by strengthening national and regional development planning

Through our development of apps focusing on social needs such as assisted living or disaster notification, we can contribute to the goal of leaving no one behind.

13.

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

13.1

strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate related hazards and natural disasters in all countries

We can contribute in case of disaster, such as by optimizing battery charging operation linked to extreme weather information.

Extracting value out of energy data that can improve the QoL of everyone

Energy data extracted from daily life can be made beneficial for various social requirements. Ageing population, economical divide between city and urban dwellers are a common social challenge all over the world. By exploiting the full value of energy data, we can contribute to providing insights that will improve the Quality of Life (QoL) of everyone.

SDGs goals SDGs targets Our contribution

8.

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

8.4

improve progressively through 2030 global resource efficiency in consumption and production, and endeavour to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation in accordance with the 10-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production with developed countries taking the lead

Through our research and development in the area of energy optimisation, we can contribute in enabling industry and businesses to maximise their ability in making a difference to the environment.

9.

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

9.5

enhance scientific research, upgrade the technological capabilities of industrial sectors in all countries, particularly developing countries, including by 2030 encouraging innovation and increasing the number of R&D workers per one million people by x% and public and private R&D spending

Our highest priority is in the research and development of innovative technologies that contribute to optimising energy management at an infrastructure level.

11.

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

11.a

support positive economic, social and environmental links between urban, peri-urban and rural areas by strengthening national and regional development planning

We can contribute in applications such as assisted living or disaster related information that supports the community.

We can contribute in creating a society that benefits from energy data

We strive to achieve a social infrastructure that benefits from high resolution energy data, and promotes technology innovation, by increasing the number of NILM capable energy sensors and preparing to cater for the next generation smart meter roll-out. We are active leaders in the field of international standard work that elevates NILM technology from a state-of-the-art innovation to a global data industry.

SDGs goals SDGs targets Our contribution

9.

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

9.1

develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and trans-border infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all

Through design and developing energy sensors, IoT data platform operation, we are contributing to building a new information infrastructure.

9.4

by 2030 upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities

By way of contributing to optimising energy consumption in the industrial sector, we can contribute to higher efficiency and sustainability.

11.

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

11.3

by 2030 enhance inclusive and sustainable urbanization and capacities for participatory, integrated and sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries

In order to support the next generation urban development, we will design and aim to install energy sensors to all the residential homes in Japan, to realize analysis, prediction, and optimization of high resolution energy data.

Achieve sustainable corporate governance and continue to be a company where both business and employees continue to grow

We have a large proportion of our engineers that are highly skilled in AI / data analysis, software and hardware development. In order to nurture healthy competitiveness and to remain sustainable in the future, we always strive for a fair and open work environment. Our appraisal system encourages everyone to maximise their performance and it rewards those that exceed expectation. Through fair corporate governance for all employees working in Informetis, we will continue to be a company to promote both corporate and personal growth.

SDGs goals SDGs targets Our contribution

8.

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

8.2

achieve higher levels of productivity of economies through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation, including through a focus on high value added and labour-intensive sectors

We have a high proportion of skilled engineers that are proficient in the latest AI technology and data analytics techniques.

8.5

by 2030 achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value

We are promoting a diverse and highly efficient workstyle, adopting IT tools and encouraging remote work.
